In popular destinations, there are many accommodation options to suit traveler's budget. But in certain and underdeveloped areas, locals house or backpacker style homestay is the only accommodation facility.
Booking Hotels in Indonesia
Online reservation is available through hotel reservation networks for hotels in major cities and popular tourist area. Reservation by phone also allowed by some hotels either with or without prebooking fee. Some homestays and melati hostels do not receive prebooking but sometimes cheaper.
Generally, accommodations in Indonesia are officially rated in two ways:
- Bintang (Star) system for business class Hotels and Resorts
- Melati (Jasmine) system for small and modest lodging.
